Luther

We finished today at the Carrieville State Forest Campground which is located just west of Luther MI. It's another rustic campground with just the basics - picnic tables, camp site, pit toilets, and water (you have to manually pump the water). But it's nice. I'm sitting here listening to the wind as it works it's way through the pine trees. This campground seems to be set up primarily for ATVs and dirt bikes. There are several ATV trails running through the campground and surrounding area.

Camp

Today's ride was pleasant with comfortable temperatures and clear skies. However we had to climb a very large hill this morning to get out of Traverse City. Terrain was generally gently rolling with farms in the morning and thick forests in the afternoon. We are now done with the Adventure Cycling North Lakes route and are on their Erie Connector trail. This means that we are done traveling south and west and are now traveling east - which has a great psychological impact on us as we look toward home.

Miles today = 72

Total miles = 3096
