Sand Hill

Today we finished at Sand Hill Campground. We found out why it's called Sand Hill. It's obvious because it sits right on the shore of Lake Erie where there is a huge sand bluff. The climb to the top really made our legs burn but the view was great. We were also escorted by the kids whose family was camping next to us. They were fun. Our camping neighbors were very nice.

To get to Sand Hill (located just east of Houghton Centre) we went through a town called Port Stanley. It's a cute little town with a very tough hill leaving it. It took us by surprise and might possibly have hurt worse than any climb yet in our grand adventure. A hill worth mention.

Terrain was flat again today - except an occasional hill. But we had a small head wind all day that kind of added to our effort over time.

Miles today = 73

Total miles = 3506

  1. Sand Hill - Funny. There is a section in Augusta called Sand Hill. It's over where the old cotton mill used to be.
