We finished our trek through Michigan and entered Ontario Canada via a short ferry ride. It was a delightful day of riding through the farm lands of Ontario with a tailwind for a good part of the day. We caught a glimpse of Lake Erie and this really made us feel like home is becoming closer every day. We landed in Clearville City Park campground for the night. Our gear, especially the sleeping bag, gets very hot and damp after a day in a hot plastic trailer bag so we took advantage of the near empty campground and spread our "stuff" out to air out. 3 more days of riding and then it is hello to family. We are very excited!
First glimpse of Lake Erie |
We are surrounded by wind turbines. It is interesting that we saw significant wind farms throughout the Columbia River Gorge of Oregon and Washington, then a few in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan and now significant numbers in Ontario along Lake Erie. Nothing throughout our travels in Idaho, Montana, North Dakota, and Wisconsin. At least none that we could see from our vantage point. It's windy and the turbines are turning. There is a very slight background noise that can be heard occasionally but nothing that will keep us awake.

On Rte. 90 in Montana (I think) and definitely in North Dakota I saw tons of wind turbines and found them beautiful scattered across open lands. As you said, different route.
ReplyDeleteI love the green I've been seeing in your pictures lately. It so reminds me of home here in Maine.
