This was a very full day. We left our camp at Carrieville State Forest and had a great breakfast in LeRoy. After breakfast we made our first wrong turn of this adventure. Not bad. We caught it quickly not because of my great sense of direction but because our GPS has a built in compass so we knew something was wrong before we pedaled even 1/2 mile.
Then for most of the afternoon we were chased by ugly looking storms but somehow didn't get rained on. We even took shelter at Lake George but it still didn't rain where we were.
We finished the day with about 25 miles on the Pere Marquette Rail Trail to Midland. Due to the weather and miles pedaled we opted for a hotel. Good choice as there are severe storm warnings all around us. We had dinner at Shirlene's which is another great restaurant worthy of going to if you ever find yourself in Midland, MI. Food - it tastes so good especially when we find a quality restaurant.
